I have been looking all over for a STEM lab sheet that fit my class. I wanted one sheet that I could use for lab after lab. One that my students could become farmiliar with and I wouldn't have to explain new directions and new expectations each time. I also wanted to be able to make a bunch of copies and have plenty of extras in case of mistakes while not becoming over run by worksheets I have no use for anymore! After taking ideas from different places I decided to just make my own. The first page is a list of reminders for my students. The reminders are pretty simple and straight forward. First is to santize their hands. When you teach all different classes, and share supplies, germs can spread like wild fire. This is especailly true in the computer lab where every child is touching either the keyboard or mouse, every class. There just is not enough time to clean the entire lab before each class! The next set of diretions remind the students to PLAN first THEN begin the lab. When they need to change their plan to STOP and write in the changes. The final reminders are my expectations for clean up. When the timer rings, they put their papers into their binder, clean up their supplies and wait quietly.

I also include our STEAM motto, "Have Fun, Be Safe, Learn A Lot"

The lab sheet iteself is seperated into sections each with a critical thinking conponent.

1. Ask It

- List materials

- Explain the problem

2. Solve It

- Fill in the idea bank

-Pick the best solution

-Explain why it was the best

3. Design It

- draw a blueprint of your design

4. Test it

- What worked well

-What didn't work well

5. Improve It

-What can you change to make it better

6. Change and Reflect on It

-Waht changes did you finally have to make

-why

7. Summarize It

- What's the big idea?

8. Expand and Evaluate It

-Questions, Predictions

-Other ways you could have done this lab

-Suggestions on how to make this lab better.
